4 Great 4th of July Recipes

Pop quiz: When is Independence Day in the United States?

Today, everyone will tell you Independence Day is on July 4. But some history buffs – and founding fathers – disagree.

On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of a resolution declaring independence from Great Britain. Two days later, on July 4, the congress officially adopted the Declaration of Independence. Over the years, the 4th became the observed and official holiday. But founding father John Adams was always adamant that Independence Day be celebrated on July 2. He’d even turn down invitations to appear at events held on the 4th.

These days, most people are a lot less picky about when they celebrate Independence Day (especially with July 1 and 2 falling on a weekend this year).

History debates aside, 4th of July celebrations typically mean good food with great friends. And on that front, Olivia’s has you covered. Read on for four tasty recipes to round out your Independence Day menu.
