Happy spooky season!
It seems like Halloween gets more popular with each passing year. And while we can’t get enough of the decorations and dress-up, there’s no doubt the candy and treats can get a little overwhelming for kids and grownups alike.
In this week’s newsletter, we’re sharing a few recipes that are perfect for sneaking some healthy greens into snacks and meals. Think of it as kind of a secret defense against the sweets and treats to come. Check ‘em out!
Cornbread is great with chili or just with a bit of butter or honey. This version sneaks in some spinach to add nutrients and flavor – not to mention a pop of color.
Power Blend Quesadillas:
Kids love quesadillas … what’s not to love? With a few handfuls of Olivia’s Power Blend, you can add some healthy greens to all that ooey gooey cheesy goodness. Mushrooms and chicken add a bit of filling protein, too.
Kale Peanut Butter Smoothie:
Competition for dessert can be pretty fierce with all that candy floating around. But this smoothie has all the deliciousness of a peanut butter treat, plus plenty of kale and banana for a healthy upgrade. The kids don’t even have to know!
There you have it! Three delicious, kid-friendly recipes that may or may not be the perfect dishes for sneaking a bit more greens (plus vitamins and minerals) into a meal.
Now we want to hear from you. How do you get kids to eat healthy when there are so many treats on the menu? What’s your favorite Olivia’s product for sneaking greens into other recipes?
