Now that the 4th of July BBQs are behind us, here’s another reason to celebrate this month. July is National Picnic Month!
We love everything about picnics – the beautiful scenery, the lawn games and the good times with friends and family. But of course, our favorite part of any picnic is the food. Whether you’re pulling out all the stops for a big family gathering or packing up a few appetizers for an afternoon in the park, the right food can make or break a picnic.
This week, we’re spreading out our blanket and sharing our top picks for best picnic recipes. Enjoy!
Celery & Gorgonzola Sticks:
No ants on this log! The iconic celery snack gets a decidedly grown-up update by swapping out peanut butter for funky gorgonzola cheese and fresh herbs. But don’t let that stop kids from trying it. They might just love it!
Arugula Salad with Cherries & Almonds:
We’re in peak cherry season, and there’s no better way to enjoy them than in this simple salad that’s the perfect picnic companion.
Spinach Focaccia Bread:
A delicious make-ahead bread that gets a flavor boost from spinach and mozzarella. Pro tip: Bring along some extra olive oil and balsamic vinegar in a travel-safe container for dipping!
Tuna Salad on Spinach:
Here’s a classic tuna salad recipe that can be tailored to match your specific picnic needs. It’s great served over baby spinach, or enjoy with focaccia bread and create bite-sized tuna salad sandwiches – perfect for snacking!
Ta da! Four picnic-perfect recipes that can be enjoyed from a blanket or a table in the great outdoors!
