Olivia’s Thanks First Responders with Random Acts of Freshness Tour

Olivia’s is always on the lookout for new ways to give back to our customers and our communities. We all do our part to make the world a better place to live, and Olivia’s is proud to shine a spotlight on the people and organizations really going above and beyond the call of duty. One of our favorite ways to show our gratitude is to visit people and groups in our local communities who are making a difference in the lives of others.

We call these visits Random Acts of Freshness. This summer, we’re focused on saying thanks to the men and women who keep us safe–the first responders in the Greater Boston area and throughout the great state of Massachusetts. We’ve already stopped by 49 fire stations and 17 police stations in towns like Chelsea, Everett, Medford and East Boston. And we have plenty more visits planned!

We are honored to have the opportunity to thank so many for the incredible work they do, making our communities better and safer places to live and work. During our visits, we make it a point to meet and thank as many individuals as we can and let them know we’ll be stopping by lots of other stations in the area. Everyone has been so welcoming! And we also make sure to bring a little surprise for each visit – a healthy and delicious lunch. For every station we stop at, we bring a variety of Olivia’s salads along with a whole bunch of tasty toppings and salad dressings. Everyone can pick from their favorite dressings, croutons, nuts and seeds, chickpeas, dried fruits and a whole lot more. Providing a healthy feast is our small way of thanking those with some of the biggest jobs out there.

To say it’s been a rewarding experience for Olivia’s team members would be an understatement. Everyone enjoys our visits and the fresh lunch (lots of them are already Olivia’s customers!). The biggest reward has been the humble and grateful attitude of everyone we’ve visited. They’re truly touched just by this simple acknowledgment. That in itself is a good reminder of the power of giving thanks – and enough to make anyone’s day!

Random Acts of Freshness has been a huge hit so far, and we’re just getting started! In addition to thanking first responders, we’re eager to start including even more groups deserving of gratitude. We’ll start visiting teachers, veterans’ affairs groups, health and human services organizations and other non-profits soon.
