“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”
Leave it to Martin Luther King Jr. to capture such an inspiring sentiment in so few words. Many of us had a chance to put Dr. King’s words into practice this past Monday on the national holiday in his honor. This day of service – “a Day on, not a Day off” – is a reminder that we all have a part to play in supporting the causes we care about and making the world a better place.
Those efforts don’t begin and end on MLK Day. We can find ways to give back all year long by supporting individuals and organizations doing important work in our communities and around the world. That’s the ongoing goal of the Olivia’s Organics Children’s Foundation. With every Olivia’s purchase, a portion of our proceeds goes directly to the Foundation to support the work of many deserving local organizations.
This week, we’re highlighting some of these amazing organizations and the amazing work they’re doing.
Autism Speaks: Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. The group carries out this mission on multiple fronts, including an ongoing social media campaign sharing the inspiring stories of individuals of all ages living with autism. Check out AS’s Instagram page for more.
Greater Boston Food Bank: Olivia’s and the GBFB go way back, and we’re proud to support the group’s accomplishments. They’re working toward an incredible goal – distributing enough food to provide three meals per day for each food-insecure individual in Eastern Massachusetts. Follow their journey on their website and find food bank resources in your area via this Feeding America resource.
Kids Clothes Club: Now in its 30th year, the Kids Clothes Club provides new, warm coats to help kids stay warm through the frigid New England winters. They distribute thousands of coats a year through individual donations and partnerships with organizations like Olivia’s. Learn more at their website.
There you have it! Showcasing three organizations definitely deserving of a moment in the spotlight.
What causes are most important to you and your family? We’d love to see your giving in action! The next time you’re volunteering, snap a quick selfie and share it with Team Olivia’s for a chance to be featured on our Instagram page. That’s @Olivias_Organics. Or you can always email us at email@example.com. We can’t wait to hear from you!
Thanks for making Olivia’s part of your fresh life. Stay healthy!
